Cultutal Morning Std VIII - "Mohan se Mahatma tak"

Springdales School, Pusa Road, paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, 2023. Students from grades VI to XII actively participated in a series of engaging activities, including poetry recitation, elocution, music, dance, theatre, tree plantation, and cleanliness drives.

The week-long observance of Gandhi Jayanti culminated in an exceptional presentation by Standard VIII, titled 'Mohandas se Mahatma tak,' which celebrated the profound ideas and enduring legacy of the father of our nation.

The audience, comprising parents of Standard VIII students, were enthralled by the mesmerizing musical and dance performances that marked the beginning of the presentation. This creative showcase depicted the life journey of Mahatma Gandhi, shedding light on the significant events that shaped his unwavering convictions and beliefs. It also highlighted the various movements he led and showcased the continued relevance of his principles in the present era.

The esteemed parent guests, Mr. Sumit Chadha, Senior Vice President of Times of India, and Mr. Amit Mishra, Consulting Editor of Bharat 24, wholeheartedly commended the efforts of the students and staff involved in organizing the event. They eloquently spoke about the timeless appeal of the Gandhian worldview and particularly lauded the inclusive nature of the presentation.

Dr. Usha Ram, the School Manager, extended her heartfelt compliments to the students and teachers for their exceptional dedication and hard work. She also applauded the school Principal for her exemplary leadership in facilitating such a remarkable tribute to Gandhi.

In her Vote of Thanks, Dr. Mala Gupta, the School Principal, expressed her gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event. She urged the students to emulate the Gandhian ideals that were beautifully depicted in their spectacular presentation. Dr. Gupta emphasized the importance of incorporating Gandhi's principles of truth, non-violence, and social harmony into their own lives, encouraging them to become responsible and compassionate citizens.

SCHOOL BIRTHDAY - SPRINGDALES TURNS 68

Springdales School, Pusa Road celebrated its 68th birthday on September 1st, 2023, with great zeal and enthusiasm to commemorate the birthday of Shri Yudhishtir Kumar, founder manager of Springdales. He was a visionary who had deep love for children. With a child centric ethos, the Founders Day was marked by music, dance and festivities.

Principal, Dr. Mala Gupta congratulated the school on its 68th birthday wishing for the children happiness and success.
The band set the festive vibe and Students from std 6th to 12th enthralled the audience with their energized dance performances. The cake cutting amidst birthday songs, balloons and buntings was enjoyed by one and all.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CLEBRATION 2023

Students of Class X presented a special assembly on The 77th Independence Day celebration of our country. The Chief Guest for the programme was Prof. Rakesh Sinha, Member Rajya Sabha and the Guest of Honour was Brigadier Sandeep Thapar , Alumni 1977 Batch.

Principal Dr. Mala Gupta addressed the gathering and accompanied the Chief guest, Guest of Honour and other distinguished guests for flag hoisting. The programme titled “Azadi -Ek Zimedaari” began with a melodious choir, following which was an amalgamation of theatrical presentation on some unsung struggle movements of India such as Chapati Andolan, Santhal Rebellion, Vellore Rebellion and Anandmath. It was followed by outstanding dance performances and achievements of our country in all these years. The Sarita Gupta Scholarship was awarded to four students as a customary annual practice.

Chief Guest, Prof Rakesh Sinha lauded the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and inspired students to take our country to new heights. Brigadier Sandeep Thapar reminisced his old days spent in the school and motivated young aspirants to dream big. For event gallery Click here

DR. A. K. SAHA MEMORIAL CONTEST

A Team Consisting of 10 students from Class XI and XII participated in 18th Dr. A. K. Saha Memorial Young Scientists Experimental Project Interschool Contest organized by Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi on 10th August and won the overall Trophy. KNOWLEDGE WEEK CELEBRATIONS

Springdales School, Pusa Road celebrated their annual Knowledge Week from 17th July to 21st July 2023, for the students of Nursery to Std XII. The theme of this year, “Diversity, Equity, Inclusion: Nurturing Democracy and Human Rights” was reflected through the creative presentations and holiday homework of children at various levels.

The exhibits around the school showcased various aspects of diversity enabling visitors to delve into the opportunities of inclusion.

The holiday homework and class projects of students exhibited various facets of diversity in our country and across the globe.

The Principal, Dr. Mala Gupta inaugurated the knowledge week by lighting the lamp and the opening of ‘Book of Knowledge’. In her welcome address she inspired and motivated students to use practical solutions to adapt to the emerging times. She also introduced the chief guest and keynote speaker Dr. Kavita Sharma, Vice Chairperson, Springdales Pusa. Dr. Sharma spoke about the importance of our literary heritage through narratives of Ramayana.

A week long celebrations were held whereby each day was dedicated to a particular subject and students were involved in a myriad of activities.
On the English day students participated in story telling with finger puppets, creating book jackets, poetry writing, creation of Literary collages and Graffiti walls. Speeches and folktales from around the world made students reflect on the experiences of diversity was the highlight of the social science day and students were exposed to the glorious history of India through visit to the Rashtrapati Bhawan. On the science day, students were involved in various hand on activities, cultural constellation 2D model making and visits to the Biotechnology Lab and National Crafts Museum. There were a series of interactive and thought-provoking workshops like, creation of Pi-City, quizzes and games related to mathematical concepts on the Maths day. The languages day involved students in story and dialogue narration, quizzes, book mark making and film appreciation sessions in Hindi, French and German.

An astounding exhibition on 30th July, celebrated the magnificence of diversity and marked the culmination of the knowledge week.

Dr. Rakshanda Jalil, renowned literary historian and writer was the guest of honour and graced the occasion. She appreciated and congratulated the school for its endeavours in creating an inclusive and holistic learning environment for the students. For event gallery Click here

World Environment Day

Springdales School, Pusa Road celebrated World Environment Day on 22nd July, 2023. Students of Freedom House showcased problems caused by environmental changes and the ways to reverse the changes. MANDELA DAY AND DIVERSITY WEEK VALEDICTORTY

Springdales School, Pusa Road observed the Mandela Day to commemorate the 105th birth anniversary and to honour the legacy of Dr. Nelson Mandela on the 19th of July, 2023. The celebration was a culmination the diversity week on the theme 'Embracing Diversity: transforming biases into opportunities'. A series of activities marked the ties between India and Africa and attempted to reinforce amongst the students, values of humanitarianism, embracing differences and inclusive development.

The valedictory function was presided over by Mr. Cedrick C. Crowley, Deputy High Commissioner, South African High Commission; Mr. Peter Mahafha 1st Secretary Political, South African High Commission; Ms. Tanvi Duggal, Project Manager, Goethe; Mr. Matthias Dunnwald, Project Manager, Goethe; Dr. Kavita Sharma, Vice Chairperson, Springdales School Managing Board and Dr. Usha Ram, Manager, Springdales School.

Principal, Dr. Mala Gupta, extended a warm welcome to the gathering and paid floral tribute to Madida along with the distinguished guests. The choir mesmerized the audience with the melodious rendition of ‘We are the World’ and two African songs- Asimbonanga and Siyahamba. Students also brought forth some very pertinent issues of refugees around the globe through a multimedia presentation. The highlight of the programme was celebrating the diversity of cultures in India and around the world through a dance presentation titled ‘The Rhythm of Harmony’ by students of both senior and junior schools. The event concluded with an enactment by the students on the famous poem ‘Human Family’ by Maya Angelou.

Chief guest, Mr. Cedrick C. Crowley addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to strive for excellence in their chosen fields inculcating the values of love, compassion and commitment. He also spoke of the importance of UN resolution of 2009 which celebrated a visionary leader and adopted 18th July as a day to honour his legacy. He appreciated the Principal and the school for their continuous endeavor in building Africa-India relationships and applauded the role of teachers in shaping generations of sensitive global citizens. Book Week Inaugural

Springdales School, Pusa Road inaugurated their annual Knowledge Week on 17th July 2023, for the students from Nursery to Std XII. With the theme for this year “Diversity. Equity. Inclusion. Nurturing Democracy and Human Rights” it is aimed to encourage students to reflect on the challenges of a diverse world and turn them into opportunities with their creative thoughts and expressions. Various workshops and activities would be planned during the entire week emphasizing the ideas of Equity, inclusion and imaginative capabilities of the of the students for the changing times.

The Principal, Dr. Mala Gupta inaugurated the book week by lighting the lamp and the opening of the book of knowledge as the choir rendered a soulful invocation. In her welcome address she inspired and motivated students to understand and appreciate diversity and adapt to the emerging times. She also introduced the chief guest and keynote speaker Dr Kavita Sharma, Vice Chairperson, Springdales School Managing Board and former president South Asian University. Dr. Sharma spoke about the importance of reading and connected with the students through her pertinent speech. She shared with the audience, narratives from the Ramayana and its life lessons.
