ANNUAL AWARD GIVING CEREMONY

The 67th Annual Award giving Ceremony and Choir Presentation at Springdales School, Pusa Road took place on Saturday, 10th December 2022. It was presided over by Hon’ble Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani, Delhi High Court; Dr Himanshu Gupta, Director, Department of Education Govt of NCT of Delhi; Dr. Kavita Sharma, President South Asian University and member managing board; Mrs. Anita Luthra, Former Academic Head, Springdales, Pusa and Mr. A. Bose, Alumnai and member Springdales Education Society.

They witnessed a theatrical presentation titled “Khwahish…. A Waking Dream. With contemporary music, dance, poetry and prose senior school students reflected on what makes humans unique, special and humane. The captivating and pulsating dance drama showcased that every hope in the human heart is an iridescent bubble of aspirations, those aspirations which pave the way for a journey within and that which intersects with those of others and humanity as a whole.

In her welcome address Dr. Kavita Sharma, President South Asian University and member managing board spoke highly of the school’s endeavour to develop in its students a spirit of service, humanity, international peace and understanding.

The Principal Dr. Mala Gupta, through her heartfelt words paid tribute to the founder principal, Late Dr Rajni Kumar. On behalf of the Springdalian family she expressed her love and gratitude to the legendary visionary. The principal and the school prefects read the school report with a visual reflection of the happenings at school.

Justice Bhambhani reminisced his own cherished memories as an alumnus of the institution shared what transpires in the school as an educational organisation today. He applauded the commendable performance of the students and spoke about need to introspect, be responsible, learn from past experiences and arouse collective consciousness for a better tomorrow.

26th Rahul Joshi Memorial Inter School Declamation Contest

26th Rahul Joshi Memorial Inter School Declamation Contest was held on 4th November 2022 in the Hall of Celebration. Rotary Club, Cama Place sponsored this programme. Mr. Atul Sharma, Justice Deepak Gupta and Prof. Harshit Nigam were the judges for the event.

Eleven schools, participated in the competition. Each school was given one topic on current affairs to prepare for 45 minutes. Springdales school, Dhaula Kuan won the best speaker and the rolling trophy for the same. Samaya Pahwa of Springdales school, Pusa road was adjudged the second best speaker.

Springdales School Pusa Road Celebrated 67th School's Birthday

Springdales School, Pusa Road celebrated its 67th birthday on September 1st, 2022, with great zeal and enthusiasm to commemorate the birthday of Shri Yudhishtir Kumar, founder manager of Springdales. He was a visionary who had deep love for children. With a child centric ethos, the Founders Day was marked by music, dance and festivities.

Principal, Dr. Mala Gupta congratulated the school on its 67th birthday wishing for the children happiness and success. She paid her tribute to our founder principal and Chairperson, Dr. Rajni Kumar who is our constant pillar of strength and beacon of light. The band set the festive vibe and Students from std 9th and 12th enthralled the audience with their energized dances performances. The cake cutting amidst birthday songs, balloons and buntings were enjoyed by one and all.

Dr. A.K. Saha Memorial Young Scientists Experimental Projects Inter School Contest

Dr A. K. Saha Contest was organized by Springdales School Dhaula Kuan on 20th August, 2022. The theme of the same was “Science, Society and Environment: Building Sustainable Communities”. The contest comprised of two events – The investigatory Research Project in Science and The Science quiz. Seven students from our School participated in the contest out of which three students participated in the investigatory project and two teams comprising of two students each participated in the quiz. The Investigatory Project students were mentored by Mr Dipankar Mukherjee, Mrs Rekha Dhawan, Mrs Sonia Chojar and Mrs Tanushree Srivastava under the able guidance of Dr. Mala Gupta. The quiz students were prepared by the entire science faculty.

Inter-House Choir Competition at Springdales Pusa

Commemorating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, 75 glorious years of Independent India, an inter house choir festival was organised for students of class IX to XII on the 10th August 2022.

Through their songs, the choir groups mesmerised the audience and aroused deep feelings of patriotic fervour. Each house presented melodious songs celebrating India and its rich historical past in more than one regional language.

Principal Dr Mala Gupta proposed the welcome address and congratulated the gathering of students, parents and other dignitaries on the tremendous achievements of India as a nation over the 75 years. She welcomed the chief guest for the event, Mr. Randhir Sahay, Joint Secretary of the Govt of India and Additional Commissioner, MCD. She also introduced the judges for the programme who were Pt. Bhola Nath Mishra, Mr. Sudhanshu Bahuguna and Mr. K.K. Chaudhary
Freedom House was adjudged first, Unity house second and Endeavour house took up the third position in the choir singing.

Book Week Inaugural 2022

Springdales School, Pusa Road inaugurated their annual Book Week on 19th July 2022, for the students from Nursery to Std XII. With the theme for this year “Creating a diverse school for the emerging world: Challenges and Opportunities” it is aimed to encourage students to reflect on the challenges and turn them into opportunities with their creative thought. Various workshops and activities would be planned during the entire week emphasizing the ideas of adaptability and imaginative capabilities of the school system, educator and the learner for the changing times.

The Principal, Dr. Mala Gupta inaugurated the book week by lighting the lamp and the opening of the book of knowledge as the choir rendered a soulful invocation. In her welcome address she inspired and motivated students to use practical solutions to adapt to the emerging times. She also introduced the chief guest and keynote speaker Ms. Enakshi Ganguly, co-founder of HAQ - a center for child rights and an activist for rights of women, children and tribals. Ms. Ganguly spoke about the importance of reading and connected with the students through her pertinent speech on the power of language. For event gallery Click here

AFRICA WEEK AND MANDELA DAY 2022

Springdales School, Pusa Road observed the Mandela Day to commemorate the 104th birth anniversary of Dr. Nelson Mandela on the 18th of July, 2022. The celebration was a culmination of a series of week-long activities marking the ties between India and Africa. The valedictory function was presided over by Mr. Cedrick C. Crowley, Deputy High Commissioner, Minister Plenipotentiary, South African High Commission; Mrs. Lara Swart, Counsellor, Political, South African High Commission; Mr. TSiory, Counsellor, Embassy of Republic of Madagascar; Mr. D.K. Pandey, Principal, N.C. Jindal Public School and dignitaries from the African High Commission.

As a school, Springdales has always been committed to the ideal of internationalism and fostered the Indo-African ties through various programmes and competitions.

Principal, Dr. Mala Gupta, extended a warm welcome to the guests and also initiated the lamp-lighting for peace and harmony across the globe. She emphasized on the need for the youth to carry on Mandela’s legacy and contribute towards the humanitarian causes to make the world a better one for all.

The choir mesmerized the audience with the medley of two African songs- Jambo bwana and Siyahamba which was followed by a dance presentation by the students of the senior school.

The high point of the programme was a soul stirring dramatic presentation by the students, entitled “Mandela- From Prisoner to President ”, honouring the life journey of Mandela and his ideologies.

Mr. Cedrick C. Crowley addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to strive for excellence in their chosen fields and take inspiration from the lives of Gandhi and Madiba.

He applauded and appreciated the Principal and the school for their continuous endeavor in building Africa-India relationships. For event gallery Click here
