Rashtrapati Bhawan echoed with the rich strains of Hindustani Classical music during a vibrant 15-day vocal workshop from 5th to 20th June 2025, led by Dr. Neha Singh. Open to participants aged 7 and above, including school children, parents, and residents of the President’s Estate, the workshop offered training in voice culture, foundational Raagas, folk traditions, and patriotic compositions. Culminating in a cultural showcase on 25th June, the participants presented a soulful performance of a patriotic song and a Malayalam piece before dignitaries of the President’s Estate.
The program concluded on a high note with an exclusive interaction between the facilitators and the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, on 27th June, where she warmly appreciated the initiative and shared her reflections on the unifying power of music. The Annual Summer Staff Seminar on the theme ‘Ideations on Curricular Effectiveness’ was organized by Springdales School, Pusa Road on 28th June 2025 for all staff members of its branches. The theme for this seminar was chosen to reflect on renewing our commitment towards curriculum effectiveness in facilitating a dynamic, learner-centered and socially responsive classroom.
In her address, Principal, Dr Mala Gupta welcomed the gathering of guests, staff members and the managing board and highlighted the relevance of curriculum transformation in the present-day education system.
The Keynote Address was delivered by Padma Shree Dr. Geeta Chandran, a renowned Bharatnatyam danseuse who brought alive the divine form of Lord Shiva as Nataraja connecting it with the importance of creativity and freedom of artistic expression in curriculum design. She expressed her belief in the role of teacher as a facilitator of imaginative ideas within and beyond the classroom.
The seminar saw several speakers who presented their views ranging from integrated approaches towards learning to the transformative power of media, social emotional learning, parental involvement and artificial intelligence in recreating school spaces. Springdales School, Pusa Road hosted the Inter-House Choir Competition, "A Musical Sojourn," on 9th May 2025, celebrating harmony and musical excellence.
The event was graced by eminent personalities from the music industry. Ms. Vidhi Sharma, a renowned national and international playback singer, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Kajal Ghosh, an acclaimed music director and Hindustani vocalist, was the Guest of Honour. They were joined on the judging panel by Mr. Anil Sharma, a distinguished music arranger, composer, and a senior member of the school’s administrative team, whose expertise and encouragement greatly enriched the competition.
Distinguished members of the Managing Board including Dr. Kavita Sharma, Vice Chairperson of the Managing Board; Dr. Usha Ram, Manager, Springdales School Pusa Road; Dr. Irfan Habib; Prof. Chandrachur Singh, members of the Managing Board; Dr. Ritu Verma; and representatives of the Old Springdalian Association were also present.
All eight houses presented captivating choir performances on themes of peace, hope, harmony, and unity. Peace House emerged victorious, securing the Chetan Basra Trophy, while Equality House, Amity House, and Unity House earned second and third place honors.
Exceptional soloists Siddhant Arya, Revati Singh, and Dipawita Maiti received the Best Soloist Trophy, making the festival a memorable musical celebration. View Full Gallery →
An Action Planning Workshop for the Recognition of International Dimension in Schools, was organized on May 14, 2025 by the British Council in our school. The resource person for the workshop was Ms. Sapna Sukul, Chief Operating Officer, Boarding Schools Association of India and British Council School Ambassador, and the event was coordinated by Ms. Manisha, Head of Business Development at the British Council. Dr. Mala Gupta, the Principal, warmly welcomed the guests and participants, including principals, vice principals, and educators from 44 schools. The workshop began with a lamp lighting ceremony to invoke the light of knowledge and wisdom, symbolizing the illumination of ideas.
Participants engaged in a series of interactive sessions that included group discussions, brainstorming activities, and presentations. Ms. Sukul led a session on the planning and processes involved in implementing the International Dimension in Schools, highlighting the benefits of fostering global awareness among students. Attendees collaborated to create action plans for both collaborative projects and in-house initiatives, focusing on practical steps to integrate international perspectives into their curricula.
The participants shared best practices, innovative strategies, and personal experiences. The Workshop included hands-on activities that encouraged educators to think creatively about their approach to internationalization in education. The atmosphere was dynamic and engaging, culminating in a collective commitment to enhance global education within their schools.

The 57th Gowardhan Dass Declamation was held at Springdales School, Pusa Road on Monday, 5th May 2025. The contest was instituted in the year 1967 in memory of Mr. Gowardhan Dass, the founder Chairman of Springdales Education Society. A fine orator, he was interested in all socio-economic and political problems faced by society.
Principal, Dr Mala Gupta, Springdales School, welcomed the gathering and formally introduced the judges for the event.
Twenty teams from the leading schools of Delhi NCR participated in the event. Prominent academics, Prof. Ira Raja of Delhi University, Dr. Shubhangi Vaidya from IGNOU and Mr. Aporajito Bose, Administrative Manager, Diversity, Innovation and Digital Technology and Member of Springdales Education society judged the contest. It was presided over by Dr. Anju Gauba Chawla
The declamation covered a range of topics, Green Governance: A balanced approach to growth, Gen Z’s work approach better than Millennials, to the most pressing problems in the Indian society and Human influence on environment. With intuitive insights and relevant research, the teams put together impactful speeches for the audience.
After a very close competition, the Gowardhan Dass Rolling trophy for the Best Team was awarded to Bluebells International School. The Anil Das Trophy for the Second Best team was secured by Navy Children School. Samaya Pahwa from Springdales Pusa received the panel’s commendation while the host school did not compete for the Gowardhan Das and Anil Das trophies.

To mark International Labour Day, Springdales School, Pusa Road celebrated the Aabhar Diwas on 2nd May 2025 through a special assembly organized by the Social Work Department and Student Council. The assembly was a heartfelt expression of gratitude towards support staff of the school. It featured soulful performances, including a dramatic presentation, poetry recitation, musical tribute, and graceful dance, each highlighting the dedication and care of the helping staff who form the backbone of our school.
Students and staff presented gifts and handmade thank-you cards to the support staff as tokens of appreciation. The event concluded with an inspiring address by Principal, Dr. Mala Gupta and a touching farewell gesture for Baburam and Rustam ji as they superannuated after a long period of service to the institution. It was a meaningful celebration of service, care, and appreciation.

Eighteen students of Class XI, accompanied by the school social worker Miss Jahnavi Yadav, visited the adopted communities of Dasghara and Todapur villages for a Ration Distribution Drive on 23rd April, 2025. The students distributed essential rations to the elderly community members and engaged in heartfelt conversations, listening to their life stories with empathy and respect.
Through their interactions, they understood the emotional and social challenges faced by the elderly and learned about the “Adopt a Gran” project. The experience emphasized the importance of emotional care alongside material support and inspired students to engage more deeply in community service. The two-day Community Service Orientation Program, held on April 7 and 8, 2025 was organized by the Social Work department for students of Class XI. The event aimed to sensitize students towards social responsibility and introduce them to meaningful community engagement. It began with morning assemblies and classroom briefings led by class teachers and supervisors, followed by an orientation on SUPW (Socially Useful Productive Work) conducted by school social workers Ms. Tripti Malhotra and Ms. Jahnavi Yadav.
Dr. Mala Gupta delivered the welcome address. On both days, the keynote session was delivered by Resource Persons from Smile Foundation. The sessions focused on the power of youth-led change, social awareness, and the importance of community participation.
Following the sessions, students visited different NGOs for practical exposure. Class XI-A and XI-D visited Salaam Baalak Trust at Tis Hazari, while XI-B and XI-E visited the Paharganj branch. Class XI-C students were divided into two groups and visited the Boys Blind School. These visits gave students a first-hand understanding of diverse social realities, challenges faced by underprivileged groups, and the role of NGOs in addressing those challenges.
The program concluded with feedback sessions and support from the Well-Being Department. Students expressed a deeper understanding of community service and a growing sense of empathy and responsibility.
