Students of Class XI-E, Springdales School, Pusa Road, participated in the Adopt-a-Gran Ration Distribution Drive at Dasghara village as part of the school’s flagship community outreach programme. The visit marked a heartwarming reunion with the grans after the summer vacation. The students were warmly welcomed, and the grans expressed great joy in seeing them again. Although a few of the elderly were not keeping well, their spirits were uplifted by the students’ presence and affection.
For many students, this was their first visit to the community, and the experience left a lasting impression. They interacted warmly with the grans, listened to their stories, and shared light-hearted moments. The volunteers also distributed refreshments and sat down for a shared meal, strengthening the connection between generations.
Each student took initiative and participated sincerely in the distribution of ration kits. Their active involvement reflected sensitivity, responsibility, and empathy towards the elderly.
The Adopt-a-Gran project is one of Springdales School’s key community service initiatives. It aims to give students meaningful exposure to grassroots-level social work and instill in them a deep sense of compassion and commitment to the more vulnerable sections of society. View Full Gallery →
Springdales School, Pusa Road observed Mandela Day to commemorate the 107th birth anniversary and to honour the legacy of Dr. Nelson Mandela on the 18th of July, 2025. The celebration was a culmination of the diversity week on the theme ‘Embracing the Unique’. A series of activities marked the ties between India and Africa and attempted to reinforce amongst the students, values of humanism, embracing differences and inclusive development.
The valedictory function was presided over by Mr. Cedrick C. Crowley, Deputy High Commissioner, South African High Commission; Mr. Fabian Welt, Project Manager Schools, the Goethe Institut; Mr. Sandeep Bhutani, Vice President, Prayatna Educational Society; Dr Kavita Sharma, Chairperson Springdales Pusa Road, Dr. Usha Ram, Manager, Springdales School, and other members of the managing board.
Principal, Dr. Mala Gupta, extended a warm welcome to the gathering and paid floral tribute to Madiba along with the distinguished guests. She emphasized on the need for the youth to carry on Mandela’s values and contribute towards the humanitarian causes to make the world a better one for all.
The choir mesmerized the audience with the melodious rendition of an African song ‘Memeza’ by Brenda Fassie and ‘I arise’. Through a multimedia presentation students brought forth some very pertinent economic connections of Africa with the other BRICS nations and their significant position in the world trade.
The highlight of the programme was an enactment titled, ‘Mandela’s Enduring Friendships’ showcasing his lifelong associations and companionships with his associates and partners. The programme concluded with celebrating the diversity of cultures in India and around the world through a dance presentation titled, ‘Let Us Invoke’ by students of both senior and middle schools.
Mr. Fabian Welt from the Goethe Institut, in his speech, explored the significance of languages in strengthening cultural ties and bringing people together.
The chief guest, Mr. Cedrick C. Crowley, spoke of Mandela’s compassion, commitment and courage towards justice and urged the youth to follow the same. He appreciated the principal and the school for their continuous endeavors in building Indo-Africa relationships and applauded the role of teachers in shaping generations of sensitive global citizens. As part of our Diversity week celebrations, the social work department hosted a donation drive to uplift and support the street children of Salaam Baalak Trust, Tis Hazari. This initiative reflected our school's commitment to equity, inclusion and giving back. The drive started with creating awareness on the significance of contribution and social responsibility in all the classes by the social workers.
The students collected items that supported a wide range of children. The items were Notebooks,Pencils, Erasers and Sharpeners,Carom Board, Bats and Balls, Chess and Ludo,Colors and Badminton rackets and Shuttles.
Donation drives have socio- emotional and community wide impact. It supports those in need, promotes community engagement, raises awareness, cultivates a culture of giving and strengthens non-profit efforts.

Springdales School, Pusa Road inaugurated their annual Knowledge Week on 14th July 2025, for the students from Nursery to Std XII. In collaboration with Hindustan Times, the event was also marked by celebrating the Annual Literature Fest. The theme for this year "Beyond Boundaries: Exploring, Engaging and Innovating" would be reflected in various workshops and activities during the entire week emphasizing the spirit of discovery and progress that transcends boundaries through curiosity, collaboration, and creativity.
Principal, Dr. Mala Gupta and the renowned author Ms. Sutapa Basu inaugurated the celebratory week by lighting the lamp and the opening of the book of knowledge as the choir rendered a soulful invocation. Rashtrapati Bhawan echoed with the rich strains of Hindustani Classical music during a vibrant 15-day vocal workshop from 5th to 20th June 2025, led by Dr. Neha Singh. Open to participants aged 7 and above, including school children, parents, and residents of the President’s Estate, the workshop offered training in voice culture, foundational Raagas, folk traditions, and patriotic compositions. Culminating in a cultural showcase on 25th June, the participants presented a soulful performance of a patriotic song and a Malayalam piece before dignitaries of the President’s Estate.
The program concluded on a high note with an exclusive interaction between the facilitators and the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, on 27th June, where she warmly appreciated the initiative and shared her reflections on the unifying power of music. The Annual Summer Staff Seminar on the theme ‘Ideations on Curricular Effectiveness’ was organized by Springdales School, Pusa Road on 28th June 2025 for all staff members of its branches. The theme for this seminar was chosen to reflect on renewing our commitment towards curriculum effectiveness in facilitating a dynamic, learner-centered and socially responsive classroom.
In her address, Principal, Dr Mala Gupta welcomed the gathering of guests, staff members and the managing board and highlighted the relevance of curriculum transformation in the present-day education system.
The Keynote Address was delivered by Padma Shree Dr. Geeta Chandran, a renowned Bharatnatyam danseuse who brought alive the divine form of Lord Shiva as Nataraja connecting it with the importance of creativity and freedom of artistic expression in curriculum design. She expressed her belief in the role of teacher as a facilitator of imaginative ideas within and beyond the classroom.
The seminar saw several speakers who presented their views ranging from integrated approaches towards learning to the transformative power of media, social emotional learning, parental involvement and artificial intelligence in recreating school spaces. Springdales School, Pusa Road hosted the Inter-House Choir Competition, "A Musical Sojourn," on 9th May 2025, celebrating harmony and musical excellence.
The event was graced by eminent personalities from the music industry. Ms. Vidhi Sharma, a renowned national and international playback singer, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Kajal Ghosh, an acclaimed music director and Hindustani vocalist, was the Guest of Honour. They were joined on the judging panel by Mr. Anil Sharma, a distinguished music arranger, composer, and a senior member of the school’s administrative team, whose expertise and encouragement greatly enriched the competition.
Distinguished members of the Managing Board including Dr. Kavita Sharma, Vice Chairperson of the Managing Board; Dr. Usha Ram, Manager, Springdales School Pusa Road; Dr. Irfan Habib; Prof. Chandrachur Singh, members of the Managing Board; Dr. Ritu Verma; and representatives of the Old Springdalian Association were also present.
All eight houses presented captivating choir performances on themes of peace, hope, harmony, and unity. Peace House emerged victorious, securing the Chetan Basra Trophy, while Equality House, Amity House, and Unity House earned second and third place honors.
Exceptional soloists Siddhant Arya, Revati Singh, and Dipawita Maiti received the Best Soloist Trophy, making the festival a memorable musical celebration. View Full Gallery →
An Action Planning Workshop for the Recognition of International Dimension in Schools, was organized on May 14, 2025 by the British Council in our school. The resource person for the workshop was Ms. Sapna Sukul, Chief Operating Officer, Boarding Schools Association of India and British Council School Ambassador, and the event was coordinated by Ms. Manisha, Head of Business Development at the British Council. Dr. Mala Gupta, the Principal, warmly welcomed the guests and participants, including principals, vice principals, and educators from 44 schools. The workshop began with a lamp lighting ceremony to invoke the light of knowledge and wisdom, symbolizing the illumination of ideas.
Participants engaged in a series of interactive sessions that included group discussions, brainstorming activities, and presentations. Ms. Sukul led a session on the planning and processes involved in implementing the International Dimension in Schools, highlighting the benefits of fostering global awareness among students. Attendees collaborated to create action plans for both collaborative projects and in-house initiatives, focusing on practical steps to integrate international perspectives into their curricula.
The participants shared best practices, innovative strategies, and personal experiences. The Workshop included hands-on activities that encouraged educators to think creatively about their approach to internationalization in education. The atmosphere was dynamic and engaging, culminating in a collective commitment to enhance global education within their schools.
