CHHATARPUR EXCURSION PROGRAM

The Social Work Department, in collaboration with Springdales Sandhar, organized an excursion to Chhatarpur Temple and farms under the Adopt a Gran project on 24th March 2025. Supported by Sandhar Foundation, the trip aimed to bring joy, provide a refreshing experience, and strengthen intergenerational bonds between the Grans and students.

Grans and students shared moments of happiness, singing songs and enjoying the journey. Their excitement was evident as they engaged in heartfelt conversations, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere. Upon reaching the farm, the grans paid tribute to the founder, late Dr. Rajni Kumar, honoring her legacy with deep gratitude. Students also offered flowers reaffirming their commitment to carrying forward her vision of community service and compassion.

The excursion provided an opportunity for meaningful connections, fostering a sense of belonging and companionship among the participants. Beyond being a recreational outing, the visit helped in reducing loneliness, promoting emotional well-being, and offering a change from daily routines. It reinforced the significance of intergenerational relationships and highlighted the impact of kindness and social work in uplifting communities. Donation drive remembering Aunty Kumar

Honoring the Legacy, Building a Better Tomorrow

The Social Work Department organized a contribution drive from 3rd-5th of March on the birth anniversary of our founder Late Dr. Rajni Kumar. The students of junior, middle and senior school collected stationery, toys, story books , candies in the memory of Aunty Kumar. The material collected was distributed by students to children in Salaam Baalak Trust, Katyayani Balika Ashram, Gurukool Kids and Masoom special school. The children of shelter homes were delighted to interact with our student volunteers. The objective was to take forward the ongoing efforts to continue our founder’s vision through our contributions. Winter Donation Drive 2025

The Social Work Department, under the guidance of Ms. Tripti Malhotra and Ms. Jahnavi Yadav, along with students from Classes VII, VIII, and XI, organized a Winter Donation Drive to extend warmth and support to those in need.

As part of this initiative, students of Class XI-A visited Arya Mahila Ashram, an old age home, where they engaged in thoughtful and meaningful interactions with the Grans. The visit provided an opportunity for the students to gain insight into the lives of the elderly while fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding.

The students of Class XI-B visited a Boys’ Blind School, where they not only conducted a donation drive but also took the initiative to prepare and share a meal with the students. This simple yet significant gesture aimed to foster inclusivity, camaraderie and meaningful social engagement.

Furthermore, students from Classes VII and VIII extended their support to Salaam Baalak Trust where they visited the Children Home. During their visit, the students participated in interactive sessions. In addition to donating essential winter supplies, the students sought to create an environment of warmth, encouragement and inclusivity, reinforcing the importance of social solidarity.

The Winter Donation Drive was a significant initiative that not only provided essential relief but also served as a transformative learning experience for the students. Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Rajni Kumar

The students and staff of Springdales Pusa Road came together to commemorate a special occasion for the entire Springdalian family, the 102nd birth anniversary of our founder principal Dr. Rajni Kumar and her magnanimous life journey.

A perfect example of benevolence and elegance, Dr Rajni Kumar was a revolutionary leader who started and nurtured Springdales with a vision, purpose and deep compassion.

Mrs. Kumar was truly Springdales’s strength and the reason behind its ever-beating heart. Her radiant aura, positivity, vibrant energy, infectious laughter, her benign yet spirited presence made everyone a part of the Springdalian family instantly.

Students and teachers were involved a week-long series of activities idolizing and celebrating the values that were dear to Ma’am Kumar. From book readings, creation of legacy walls, letter writing, creative expressions, padlet writing, donation drive to dressing up in her favourite colours and spending time with pets, students participated wholeheartedly.

To celebrate the momentous day, on 5th March 2025, Principal, Dr. Mala Gupta, Dr. Kavita Sharma, Vice Chairperson of the managing board along with staff members offered their tributes through lamp lighting, floral offerings and heartfelt words.

Her favourite melodies and mesmerizing dance performances by teachers of both junior and senior school marked the occasion.

A Visionary, Ma’am Kumar encouraged internationalism and interconnectedness building ties with nations across the world passing on as a Springdalian legacy with the ideal of Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam, leading an exemplary life based on values of humanism for our institution and its members to emulate and carry forward. The Y. Kumar Memorial Assembly

The 48th Y. Kumar Memorial Assembly was held at Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan, on February 11, 2025, in honour of the legacy of Late Shri Y. Kumar, Founder Manager Springdales School. A joint endeavour by both Springdales Pusa and Dhaula Kuan, the assembly embodied the shared vision of global citizenship and social responsibility. The event was graced by Dr. Ashok Khosla, Chairman of Development Alternatives, Global Environmental Programme, as the Chief Guest.

The program commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Mala Gupta, Principal, Springdales School, Pusa Road, followed by a floral tribute by the guests, paying homage to Shri Y. Kumar.
The cultural segment was a fine blend of music, dance, and reflection, seamlessly weaving artistic expression with a profound message. Springdales Pusa Road set the tone with an inspiring rendition of Imagine and an evocative dance performance, Let Us Invoke. Springdales Dhaula Kuan captivated the audience with a powerful choir rendition of Guantanamera and a moving finale, No Man Is an Island, reinforcing interconnectedness and collective responsibility.

A power point presentation titled Glimpses of the Y. Kumar Student Award Over the Years, was showcased highlighting the main events of the contest and the distinguished speakers at past memorial assemblies. Inaya Gala, a participant at the inter-school event from Springdales Pusa gave an activity round-up of this year’s event for seniors and painting festival.

Dr. Jyoti Bose, Chairman, Springdales Education Society & Director, Springdales Schools, introduced the keynote speaker, Dr. Ashok Khosla, who delivered an insightful lecture on The Centrality of Personal Responsibility for Achieving a Truly Fulfilling Life. His address urged the gathering to take ownership of their actions and contribute meaningfully to society.

Dr. Chandrachur Singh, Professor, Department of Political Science and International Studies, Hindu College, Delhi University, gave his valuable comments as a panellist. The Presentation of the Y. Kumar Student Awards for 2025 recognized students for their excellent performance in the contest and painting festival.

The Y. Kumar Memorial Assembly was an inspiring celebration of the awareness of the global issues, personal responsibility, social consciousness, and the power of youth to drive meaningful change. CITATION CEREMONY FOR BATCH OF 2025

The citation ceremony at Springdales School, Pusa Road was held on the 1st February 2025. The solemn event is organised every year to bid adieu to the outgoing batch of standard XII and wish them luck for their future endeavours.

In her address to the students and parents, Principal, Dr. Mala Gupta, expressed her firm belief in the preparedness of the outgoing batch to face challenges with conviction and confidence imbibing a strong Springdalian value system and ideas of collaboration.

As a learning for the outgoing batch she emphasised on the importance of elevating our thoughts above extreme self-indulgence, or examination pressure, shifting them towards the mental wellbeing and aligning ourselves to the positive energies of the universe that favours the truthful, the magnanimous and the virtuous.

The chief guest for the occasion, Ms. Veditha Reddy, Director Education, Directorate of Education emphasised on the important virtues of life such as humanity, hard work, friendship and family who will always support irrespective of time and situation. She urged the students to utilise the power of education to change the future of the country. She also spoke about the importance of innovative and constructive thought in empowering youth as the harbingers of change for a better tomorrow.

Students and parent representatives from the outgoing batch spoke about their association with the school and shared their cherished memories.

XXXIII SHRI R.S.NIAMAT RAI RAJPAL MEMORIAL

XXXIII Shri R.S.Niamat Rai Rajpal Memorial contest of Investigatory projects in Mathematics was held on 9th December 2024 at Springdales School, Pusa Road in the Hall of Celebration. The event was judged by Dr. Prabal Pratap Singh, Director, UIDAI, Govt. of India, Ministry of Electronics and IT; Dr. Roopesh Tehri, Associate Prof., Acharya Narendra Dev College, Delhi University; Dr. Neeti Goel, Assistant Professor, SGND Khalsa College,Delhi University and Mr. Gurudutt Rao Ambedkar, Assistant Prof. Hansraj College, Delhi University.

Springdales School, Pusa Road was adjudged the winner and was awarded the trophy for the Best Team. Sanskriti School, Chankaya Puri won the runners up trophy and Springdales School Dhaula Kuan received a special mention. Preksha Jain from Bluebells School received the award for the Best Speaker.

ANNUAL DAY & AWARD GIVING CEREMONY

The 69thAnnual Day and Award Giving Ceremony at Springdales School, Pusa Road took place on Saturday, 7th December 2024. It was presided over by Dr Rahul Ram, Renowned Singer and Music Composer as the Chief Guest ; H.E. Dr Ali Achoui, Ambassador of Algeria as the Guest of Honour; Justice Ajit Prakash Shah, Chairman, Springdales Pusa along with other members managing board.

The audience of dignitaries, parents, teachers and students witnessed a musical rendition of a medley of songs by the senior school choir and Nrityanjali- A classical dance tribute by the senior students.

In his welcome address, Lt. Gen. Arun Kumar Sahni, PVSM UYSM SM VSM and member managing board spoke highly of the school’s endeavour to develop in its students a spirit of service, humanity, international peace and understanding.

The principal, Dr. Mala Gupta and the school prefects read the school report with a visual presentation consolidating the happenings at school of the session 2023-24.

Chief Guest, Dr Rahul Ram, a passionate musician and singer reminisced his school life and performed his famous foot tapping songs, leaving the audience enthralled. The Guest of Honour, H.E. Dr Achoui, expressed his firm belief in strengthening Indo-Algerian ties and the deep philosophy of “Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam”- which connects humans of all races into an everlasting bond of mutual existence. He applauded the commendable performance of the students and the school’s endeavours towards a sustainable and a better tomorrow.
