SCHOOL BIRTHDAY - SPRINGDALES TURNS 66

Springdales School, Pusa Road celebrated its 66th birthday virtually with great enthusiasm and gusto to commemorate the birthday of Shri Yudhishtir Kumar, founder of Springdales Education Society.

The Officiating Principal, Dr. Mala Gupta congratulated the school on its 66th birthday wishing the children happiness and success. Taking a trip down memory lane, the entire Springdalian family reminisced and celebrated the journey of the institution. As a tribute to our founder principal and chairperson, Dr. Rajni Kumar a compilation of old memories in the form of pictures was showcased.

The virtual cake cutting amidst birthday songs, balloons and buntings and the celebratory performances were enjoyed by one and all.

Pusa Junior students enthralled the audience by their foot tapping dances and Pusa Senior students presented a graceful classical performance. Students of std 9th and 10th recalled their memories of all previous school birthdays and shared their thoughts through a beautiful musical.

THE 75TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

Springdales School, Pusa Road celebrated 75th Independence Day virtually on 14th August 2021. It was organised by the Felicity House. The event begin with the welcome address followed by the hoisting of flag by Dr. Mala Gupta, officiating principal.

The students spoke on the significance of the national flag, the first Independence Day, the landmarks of our struggle for independence and our achievements. The speeches were interspersed with spectacular dances, poignant recitations of poems and soulful songs showcasing our fervour and patriotic zeal.

Dr Mala Gupta addressed the school. Her rousing speech was truly uplifting. Ms. Chandreyi Mukherjee House in charge introduced the Chief Guest, Vice Admiral Sanjay Mahindru, AVSM NM Indian Navy. He gave a thought provoking speech with timely reminders and inspiring messages. An alumunus of Springdales Pusa, Vice Admiral Sanjay Mahendru struck a chord in every heart. The Sarita Gupta Scholarships were announced and the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Shuchi Bajaj.

The programme was attended by all the parents and students of the school.

The virtual valedictory of the book week marked by celebration of the life of Madiba on the Mandela day

Springdales School, Pusa Road virtually celebrated their annual Book Week from 12th July to 16th July 2021, for the students from Nursery to Std XII. The theme “Learning for Evolving Times” was reflected through the creative presentations of children at various levels. The workshops and activities during the entire week emphasized the ideas of preparedness and adaptability of the school system, educator and the learner to the changing times.

The Officiating Principal, Dr. Mala Gupta inaugurated the book week by lighting the lamp and the opening of the book of knowledge. In her welcome address she inspired and motivated students to use practical solutions to adapt to the emerging times. She also introduced the chief guest and keynote speaker Ms. Nishita Saxena, a writer and a journalist who connected with the students through her pertinent speech on the power of language and the importance of reading.

A week long celebration was held wherein each day was dedicated to a particular subject and students were involved in myriads of activities.

On the English day students participated in activities like virtual story board creation, literary character presentation, limerick writing and creating Haiku poetry. A motivational session about mental wellbeing by an eminent psychologist was organised on the Social Science day and students were exposed to the ideas of sustainability through a “Best out of Waste” workshop. On the Science day, students were involved in various hand on activities. They designed centrifuge sprinkler and understood integration of sports with physics. There were a series of interactive and thought-provoking workshops and activities on Polyhedrons, Maths crosswords Kakuro, quizzes and games related to mathematical concepts on the Maths day. The Language day involved students in Hindi story and dialogue narration, the German and French students in online quizzes, book mark making and film appreciation sessions.

The virtual valedictory of the book week was also marked by celebration of the life of Madiba on the Mandela day.

H.E. Mr. Sibusiso Ndebele, High Commissioner of Republic of South Africa was present to grace the occasion. He addressed and illumined the audience by recounting the contributions of Mandela for the entire human race. Dr. Devapriya Roy, an acclaimed author was also present for the occasion.
