Rotary Club Students of Springdales School, Pusa Road went for ration distribution to Dasghara on October, 7th. It was a soul satisfying experience for all the students as they had meaningful interactions with the grans. The grans were full of gratitude and happiness to meet the students. The rotarians ensured their social responsibility by distributing ration to the grans. They developed empathy and understood the challenges faced by them at this age. On August 12, 2024, a group of twenty-four students from Class XI B, along with Social Workers Miss Jahnavi Yadav and Tripti Malhotra, visited the adopted communities of Dasghara and Todapur to celebrate the festival of rakhabandhan with their grans. Members of the Sandhar Foundation also attended the visit.
The students were given an overview of the Adopt a Gran project by Dr. Ritu Varma. Following this, Mr. Sarad, Head of Human Resources at Sandhar Foundation addressed the gathering, sharing a mythological tale emphasizing the importance of caring for our elders. He also narrated a story about a shepherd and his deceit, explaining the value of maintaining the right attitude in life.
The students then engaged in heartfelt interactions with their grans, as they tied Rakhi on their wrists, symbolizing the bond of protection and love. The event was filled with laughter and joy, as the students and the Grans shared moments of connection.
Refreshments were served afterward, and the monthly rations were distributed. The students expressed their happiness at having had the opportunity to spend quality time with the Grans, making the celebration truly memorable. For event gallery Click here
Springdales School, Pusa Road celebrated "Aabhar Diwas" on the occasion of International Labour Day - 1st May 2024 with a special assembly for its support staff. The students expressed their heart felt gratitude by sharing hand made cards and contributing towards a thoughtful gift for each one of them. The Annual health Camp for support staff of Springdales School, Pusa road and Dhaula Kuan along with 32 Grans under the Sandhaar Adopt - A- Gran project was organised on 24th February, 2024 at Springdales school, Pusa Road.
30 specialists in various fields including Dentists, Eye specialists, Peliatrician, ENT specialists, Cardiologists, General physician, Gynaecologists, Neurologist, Orthopaedic doctor were present. They were assisted by 36 student volunteers and social workers from Springdales school, Pusa and D.K. The Principal of both the schools graced the occasion with their motivational thoughts.
There was a lucky Draw organised by The Old Springdalian Association for the supporting staff. The families of the staff were also invited and participated enthusiastically in the event followed by an elaborate lunch hosted by OSA. Dr. Ritu Verma, Trustee, OSA, gave an overall summary of the programme and thanked everyone involved in the success of the programme. For event gallery Click here
25 Prefects of class XI visited Dasghara on 31st January, 2024. The students had a quality one to one interaction with the grans (beneficiaries of Springdales Sandhaar Adopt-a-gran project) followed by ration distribution. The grans were invited to the health camp to be held in February, 2024 at our school premises.
One of the students remarked that it was "a soul satisfying experience". They were happy to be a part of this project and expressed the desire to actively participate in the programme on a frequent basis. On December 28, 2023, VIII grade students, accompanied by social workers, Miss Jahnavi Yadav and Tripti Malhotra, undertook a donation drive at the Boys Blind School and Arya Mahila Ashram. As part of the Christmas Donation Drive, the students generously contributed winter clothes collected from the entire school.
At the Boys Blind School, the students engaged in meaningful interactions with visually disabled peers. They explored the school premises, examined Braille books, and shared moments of joy through activities like musical chairs. The visually disabled students reciprocated with heartfelt songs, creating a pleasant memory for all.
Transitioning to Arya Mahila Ashram, the students delved into an insightful introduction to the history of the ashram shared by the coordinator, Miss Reena Bajaj. Subsequently, they connected with the residents, gaining valuable insights into their lives at the ashram. The donation drive created a rewarding and meaningful experience for the students, making it a truly memorable experience. For event gallery Click here
The students of Interact Club, XI C and std. VII celebrated Diwali along with the social workers, Miss Jahnavi Yadav and Mrs Tripti Malhotra with the grans of the school on 30 November 2023. The visit was attended by dignitaries from Sandhar NGO.
The students highlighted the essence of Diwali by singing songs and dancing to melodies of new beginnings and joys. Following the performance, the students interacted with their grans to learn more about their perceptions and experiences from the festival.
The visit concluded with a ration distribution drive that included sweets, sweaters, and hand-painted diyas for a joyous conclusion. The visit encapsulated cultural exchange, genuine connections, and meaningful contributions to the adopted communities. For event gallery Click here
The students of class XI- C along with social workers, Miss Jahnavi Yadav and Mrs. Tripti Malhotra visited the Dasghara and Todapur, the adopted community of Springdales School on 30 October 2033 for Ration distribution and Dussehra celebrations. The program commenced with an exploration of the cultural and historical significance of Dussehra, followed by a scripted play delving into the ten evils of Ravana.
Adding an interactive dimension to the event, students engaged the grans in a well-crafted quiz on the cultural nuances associated with Dussehra. It was amusing to see the grans answering the questions.
The presentation reached its end with a soul-stirring musical performance. Closing the event on a joyous note, our grans unfolded a kirtan session. They prompted students to dance to the beats of their kirtans, making the celebration of Dussehra a truly holistic experience for everyone present.
