Imprints of Nations: Shields of Unity, Symbols of Diversity

An Inter-House Competition was organized for Std. VI students on the topic "Shields of Unity, Symbols of Diversity" on 21st August, 2025. The competition aimed to instil in students a deeper understanding of world cultures while promoting teamwork, creativity, and respect for global diversity.

In this group activity, each house was assigned a specific country, and students were encouraged to create a symbolic cultural shield reflecting the nation’s identity through its heritage, values, and visual symbols.

Students worked collaboratively in groups and used craft materials, coloured sheets, symbols, and recycled items to design their shields. Each shield creatively displayed national emblems, traditional motifs, mathematical shapes, cultural patterns, and symbolic colours. A handle was fixed at the back of each shield for ease of presentation. Teams also delivered brief oral presentations explaining the symbolism of their designs and how these elements represented the culture of their assigned country.
The shields created by the students were remarkable for their attention to detail, creativity, and symbolic richness. The judges appreciated the thoughtful research, teamwork, and confident presentations demonstrated by all participants.

Results of the Competition:
First Place: Forward House
Second Place: Equality House
Third Place: Endeavour House

The competition proved to be a joyful and enriching learning experience, celebrating the theme of Unity in Diversity in a creative and meaningful manner. It also fostered a spirit of international mindedness, encouraging students to appreciate cultural diversity, respect global traditions, and recognise the shared values that connect nations across the world.
